Paradisia Botanical Garden

The Paradisia Botanical Garden was founded in July 1955, the name is inspired by the wonderful beauty of the white lily, Paradies Liliastrum, which grows in the splendid alpine meadows! Situated at 1700 meters above sea level in Valnontey, this extraordinary location is ideal for recreating different habitats, with the magnificent Gran Paradiso massif as a backdrop. In 1964 the garden was expanded with a mountain biology station to explore the local flora and fauna. Today the Paradisia garden is home to over a thousand plant species, offering a unique experience to tourists and scholars; the latter can also find a herbarium, a laboratory and a small library.
